Homelander

Holly shit the actor did a really good job with this character. And i was expecting urban to steal the show ...

reply

Yeah, I wanted to see more of Homelander. He really did steal the show.

reply

Agreed, he was amazing! One of the best villain portrayals of all-time. They were both PERFECT in their respective roles!

reply

I'd never heard of or seen Antony Starr before, but yes, he was amazing as Homelander. As much as I disliked that smarmy, phony Supe, I enjoyed every scene he was in. Starr really nailed that role.

reply

He did a decent job in Banshee, but that role was not that complex.

I didn’t even realized it was the same actor, lol.

reply

Yeah. I had to check IMDB and I'm a big fan of Banshee. He looks so different with longer, blond hair.

reply

He gave me fucking chills, man, you could tell he's just barely keeping it civil on the surface and holding himself back from doing more fucked up shit all the time. Top notch acting.

reply

I agree. Dude was barely holding it together. He was 1 flinch away from being Brightburn.

reply

Agreed. Homelander is a sick man, underneath the celebrity/near God like status. The scene on the plane when he threatened to laser the panicked passengers revealed that this "superhero" is a total psychopath. Afterwards he even gives a George W Bush style " I hear you..."speech to the rescuer services near the site where the plane went down. I thought Maeve was going to throw up at the memorial.

reply

Agreed--he was real psycho in that scene for a number of reasons. It did make my like Maeve a lot in contrast. It never really mattered what she did or said in the rest of the episodes, I was on her side because she clearly wanted to save those people when Homelander was sociopathically indifferent.
