Hasn't Made a Funny Movie Since 1994

Generally speaking, I don't like to label myself politically as I think there are good ideas on the right and left, and in my lifetime I've voted for Democrats as well as Republicans. I guess I'm a moderate progressive when it comes down to the issues, but when it comes to comedy, all bets are off and I'll laugh at anything if it's funny. I guess that's where this movie lost me. I don't think I laughed at a single joke. Comparing this mess to Zucker's comedy masterpieces is a little depressing. The political agenda is just so obvious (yes, that's the entire point, I know) that it sucks all the charm and potential wit right out of the frame. Even though I don't fall into the stereotypes the film pokes fun at, I still felt lectured, and I couldn't enjoy myself. Really disappointing.

Nice job summing up why this movie did not work. I had the exact same feeling that the political agenda overshadowed any humor that could be derived from the jokes. It might have worked if the film parodied the style and way Moore's films were made instead of the trying to counter the political messages made in his films.
