Does the main guy has some sort of bionic legs that never tire.SPOILER

Did anyone else think the main character must have the genes of a 100m sprinter+marathon runner+prizefighter combined?

At various times in the film he chased and ran down people who look outwardly fitter and carrying a great deal less weight than himself before dealing out some ass kicking into the bargain.

He was a machine.

Half the film was of him running and the scene at the end i'm sure he must've ran about 10miles,got to the point of exhustion, then be stabbed in the leg, battered about the head with a candlestick holder/golf club repeatedly and still he's not down.

He's either on Steroids,PCP or he's the new Terminator in my opinion.

P.S.Thought it was a great film by the way.
Wanted to punch that woman in the shop at the end tho.
Really sad if this is based on truth. She almost survived, plus 3 others at least would have lived if it wasn't for incompetant cops.

You'd be suprised what people can do with it.

This is a very recent story about two swedish girls who get hit by a huge truck on a highway. One of the girls get up and try to run away from the police who are trying to help her. It took 3 cops to restrain her confused self.

The 10 mile running part was kind of BS because he could have taken a taxi. Even though he missed a taxi, I'm sure he could have found another one. I've never lived in Korea so who knows. He might have ran 1 or 2 miles from his previous location.

OP, I know what you mean. He must have been dead tired, hey? What I couldn't understand is how with his cream coloured trousers he managed to stay so clean. Yeah, right.

Apart from that, really liked the film!

He was an ex-detective so he would've had basic training at least.

For the first chase he was really angry about his girls being sold so he had a good reason to push himself. For the second chase he obviously had a better reason (to find the killer of his girl).

I think he was driven on by equal parts adrenaline and guilt.

He's clearly an intelligent guy, he's knows that his actions in part caused the situation the girl found herself in. And after building some kind of relationship to her daughter (through guilt again?...) he had something else extra to drive him on...

Ask yourself this: If you knew someone was either dead, or gonna die soon, and it was your fault, would you let something like tiredness make you stop?

We don't actually know how far he ran either... but the guy looked like he was a step from a heart attack...

PS This film is already planned for a US remake - I'll bet that whichever 'hot young thing' they cast, won't be sweating like that... it's *so* unheroic! ;)

The movie would have lost its suspense at the shop scene if all of a sudden a taxi drives up to the shop, the protagonist pays the cabbie and goes inside to buy a bottle of water and he finds the killer.

So he kills the killer in front of American Jean, and they all re-unite with a nice happy ending.

I wouldn't have minded this ending either.

I think the chasing/running scenes were great, actually much more realistic then in 'American films' where I find it feels like they have those 'bionic' legs' as the thread title mentions. Specially the first time when the pimp runs after the killer, they don't run super fast, they are both out-of-breath. And I like the fact that there was no gun or shooting for a change. As for the ending run, it didn't bother me, time is running out, p*ss off as he now knows more and he is exhausted too. Any other film maker would have him run non-stop, no sweat and going to the store and save the girl. I enjoy unexpected elements in films and this one has plenty of it.

It's an asian movie, so people will overlook illogical stuff like that.
