Not a bad movie, but it is so heavily flawed that I don't understand the

Why is there so much acclaim for this film? Yes, it was well-acted. It wasn't boring. But I can also say that it was very frustrating as well. Not so much in the good kind of way.

First of all, while Mi-Jin is in a bad situation, there really is no dire concern for her situation, at least not for a movie. I can understand if she was in some sort of cartoonish contraption where if it hit a certain time, it would shred her to pieces, hence why the cops and the pimp are in a hurry to find her. But really, she was just tied up and hurt. That's what made the killer being held by the cops kind of stagnant. They already had the killer. They just had to figure out where she was and the bodies were. We really didn't get a sense of rush till we found out he was going to be released by some kind of political and legal reason. And even then, we knew he was gonna be followed by cops. We didn't find out till later that they were inept, but still.

The movie seemed to move at a snail's pace at times in terms of pace and tension. I just don't understand why this is rated so highly. It was almost like you were expecting some kind of big reason for the justification of the plot to make you care but it never really comes.

Yes, we care about Mi-Jin. And we feel sorry for the little girl. But it was kind of hard to care about anybody else other than for the pimp to finally just kill the dude. You want to know what the film is like?

Ironically, we feel like the serial killer. We're frustrated because we want some kind of result, but the movie never gives it to us. The film basically made us feel impotent. If that's the goal, then it worked. We do get some kind of satisfaction, but at the end of the day, I just don't get the fuss.

No concern for her situation? She got her head bashed in with a hammer, and could have bled to death.
This happened to my cousin in broad daylight, and no one came to his aid, and he bled to death in a half hour. RIP...

So the cop following him was just chilling as he was in the store bashing two women's heads in AND he gets away? Seriously

That was just silly

It's getting so much acclaim because it's an asian movie.
