Why do Christians hate when people question their religion?
The movie aside for a moment, why don't Christians question their religion and it's authenticity?
Christians told me they do but they really don't. Christians seem to just ignore anything that undermines their beliefs and this makes MOST religious people very ignorant. Like saying the Bible is a book of true events yet they say stories like Noah's Ark and Adam/Eve are fictinal stories of life lessons. This pick and choosing of what is true or not is wrong. You can't base a religion on a book on parts that you like. The Bible still preaches slavery but how many Christians follow it? It is in the Bible. Most just ignore that part because it doesn't fit what they feel is right by today's standards.
This movie asks a simple and legitimate question, "Was Jesus immortal or was he a mortal?" A filmmaker tries to answer this question and people are damning him to hell for his "Pure Filth." I hate how Christianity denies debating the legitimacy of their own religion. Through debate and questioning...like in science, people find the true answers. Now that people are questioning religion, they are realizing what the truth or what they that was truth is wrong.
"But you just have to have faith." This is the most popular answer I hear and this is a cop out. How can you just blinding follow something without any backing or proof?
So please, some Christians answer my question.
