What industries would thrive in this new world?

That is, if you were all beginning again in Africa?

I'm guessing at first people would focus on the immediate needs of food and shelter, so if one were good at that (say an architect or construction foreman, or baker) you'd do well and be able to trade services for goods. Then I guess doctors and nurses would also be in demand.

I personally might try to build a distillery and plant crops, because everyone would want drinks to blot out discomfort.

Brothels could do well, too. So I'd build my gin mill, then start recruiting (?) You're all invited!
