Is this worth watching?

I remember when this movie came out and dismissed it as a stupid disaster movie and never saw it. I remember in 2012 people were seriously scared by this movie though. Considering that it's 2016 and everything, is this still worth watching?

If you're 12 years old and bored half to death - yes.

No

Definitely Worth Watching! The CGI Special Effects are incredible!

The scenes with John Cusak and his family are fantastic, but the scenes with Chiwattle Elifor(or whatever his stupid name is) are mostly boring but you can fast-forward those

reply

His name is Chitewel Ejifor.

The effects are a freaking work of art. If ANYTHING, watch to appreciate them.

In my opinion, this movies is really underrated. I would give it 8,5 stars.

It has a really good and important message in it: That we're all connected. And to be human is to care for each other. I've been studying Buddhism, and the concept of interconnectedness is really well shown in this movie (as well as the importance of compassion).

As for the special effects, they are quite great. I would have loved to see this on a big screen. Plenty of giant waves and whole cities getting destroyed among other things.

The acting is good as well. Sure there are a few not-so-great characters, but the main characters (children included) did a really good job.

Summarum: I would recommend this movie. Left me in really good mood. :)

Sometimes it's worth watching a 'dumbed down' movie.

It's not a bad movie just not a very good one.

I enjoyed it. As long as you're willing to suspend belief and watch it without thinking about all the stuff going on in the world, it's not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.

Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night.

With the right mindset and expectation in place, sure.
