Nice movie, seen it before though!

So I'm watching this movie and about an hour in I realise that this is the exact same plot as in "Victim", a little horror gem that came out the year before this one. I was literally watching the same movie unfold before my eyes during the last part of the film. So I'm thinking - has this been remade from American to... Spanish? Usually it's the other way around! But the writing credits are completely different so I'm perplexed. Even though this is based on a book it just seems so weird for this movie to come out just a year later.

Has anyone here seen it? And which one did you prefer? I felt that "Victim" was more realistic, also because they used the same actor throughout the entire movie. In this one the guy turned into a really hot woman without even looking like his old self - which I kind of didn't buy even though he had one of the best surgeons in the world.
