Well, technically they are not "latino" (being female, latinas). They are Europeans, Spaniards, and arguably Hispanic. Latino is used nowadays to describe Latin Americans, half breed of Spanish and Sounth America natives.

Penelope looks latina to Americans, but she actually has this exotic arabic-mediterranean looks. She, Bardem and Banderas represent some of the darker complexions from Spain. Hollywood always loved to promote and import this stereotype from Spain and latinos- the exotic, dark, handsome, passionate people. But this doesn´t represent the whole population. Spain is a country with a wide variety of ethnicity- from caucasian, mediterranen to arabic and even african. I´d dare to say that there is more caucasian people in Spain than there is in France or Italy. And of course many latinos look arabic-mediterranean due to ethnicity blend and thus the mistake.

Anaya looks white to me. Sometimes she gets a tan that makes her look slightly mediterranean. She has tried luck in Hollywood, just like Paz Vega, but they haven´t succed . They´re not dark enough.
