Should've been shortened for the US

Bollywood movies are known to be long, but here in the USA, we like it at a 2 hour limit. This movie could've definitely been shortened! The message was a great one, and one that more Americans need to see. I just wish they shortened it so maybe more Americans could pay attention to this foreign film.

It was. It is called "the international version". Took out most of the Georgia scenes. Shaved close to 1/2 hour, so the news media reported. However, when I got my DVD copy this August, I didn't get the int'l version. It would be interesting to see it. Not sure how to. I think originally, they were trying to get Fox to re-release it (it was first released in US in Feb).

I watched the international version on Netflix it was almost 3 hours long. Every scene was great. The Georgia scene was so deep.

The version I have seen was shortened with the Georgia staff been hacked.

Yes, I agree with the OP, because of Neanderthals like this. Trust me, most of the gross fests that pass for film in U.S. now are between 90 and 100 minutes. The American brain can't process any more, especially if the film is showing Americans just how ugly their behavior can be.

This American likes long movies. If you don't like them, don't go to one or rent it. "Lagaan" was awesome, and wasn't it about 4 hours? I remember we really appreciated the intermission. :-)
