question about asperger and religion

hey, when i was seeing this movie something came to my mind. i don't know much about aspergers, but khan, when he first meets mandira, explains that he has this condictions wich don't allow him do understand certain things like someone saying "enter my house has it was your own". he can't understand this because it's not his house and he can't pretend that it is. the same thing happens when mandira says "i want to die". khan can't understand that she doesn't actually want to die.

So my question is: if someone with asperger syndrom has this sintoms can they be religious? I ask this because God isn't something that you can see or touch, you kind of have to "pretend" that you're talking to God. So how can Khan be so religious with his condition?

My 9 yr old son who has Aspergers, has a hard time understanding religion & its symbolisms. For example, when I tried to explain to him the meaning of Easter from a Christian's point of view, he asked me, "So Jesus was a zombie?" :)
