Ban Karan Johar!

This man has the brains the size of a peanut.

He is the most, most immature and irresponsible director ever.

I am not against the issue raised but this guy doesn't have even the slightest skills to portray such issues effectively and sensitively.

I am damn sure, instead of interviewing American Muslims,he would have written all their problems sitting in his office at Mumbai.

Indian audience are emotional.
A director raises a sensitive issue and people start praising the movie without considering other aspects of the film.

In the case of MNIK as I said the issue was handled very immaturely and in a very melodramatic way, the characters were stereotyped, bad acting and many such flaws

The same was the case with A Wednesday...the issue was serious but the film was very poorly executed .
Neeraj Pandey (I hate his guts) is getting undue credit.

TZP is what you call a good movie in such a 'Genre'

reply

TZP was about terrorism like MNIK and A wednesday? Thanks for the tip.

'Hello? Hello? Main Albert bol raha hoon'

reply

I guess you got it wrong.

I meant movies/genre which highlight a certain cause/issue and in the case of TZP it was dyslexia

reply

And that was less melodramtic than other "cause" films? Whatever floats your boat I guess. I agree with Baradwaj Rangan on TZP.

'Hello? Hello? Main Albert bol raha hoon'

reply

the thread starter is a mad person or what? BAD handling?? Bad acting??

get well soon.

Kjo has nt handled the issue as the best guy, but that cant make it a bad handling. Sryy mate...?

And you seem a hardcore amir Khan fan and hence a SRK hater, you wil hate SRK even if you do good. I am not a huge SRK fan , but to be honest he has done excellent in the film.

ha ha ha ha

yea ban karan johar to save indian movies

Hey... OP, MNIK was not the finest film ever to come from Hindi cinema... but it was a SRK FILM!!! Of course its melodramatic!! What did you go in expecting? Oh ya... did you also notice that KJO was directing? OK, so KJO directing with SRK and Kajol in the lead... and your shock was that the film was melodramatic? Oh god... give me a break!

But A wednesday? wtf was wrong with A wednesday? That movie was amazing. I've never even spoken to anyone who didn't like it before really. What was ur problem with it??

BUt ya OP... seriously... u think KJO is the only director out there who makes melodramatic movies or what? Or have u simply never seen any other Hindi films? 99% give way more melodrama than MNIK ever dreamed of....

My name is Khan... and I am not a terrorist!!!

reply

over all it was a good movie but after the interval it went down hill pretty fast!!

He should have been banned after he made "Kuchh Kuchh Hota Hai"

I agree with the OP to the fullest. Dude, I watched this movie as so many people were going gaga over it. My best friend was insistent that I watched this movie. This is, at best, an average movie and nothing more. First, they created all this hype around this movie, that it dealt with the ultra sensitive issue of racial profiling and portrayed the feelings of oppressed Muslims. This is nothing more than an over-the-top depiction of a *beep* love story. Certain parts of the movie were just too much rubbish for me to digest. The whole hurricane hit village scene was crap, though very emotional for the average Indian viewer, even enough to make the film a superhit, after all, Indians love to cry. This sequence would have you believe that an autistic person is the sole saviour of an entire flooded village. After all, America is a third world country with a poor economy. So obviously the government does not bother to evacuate the flood hit region.

For all those looking to watch a quality movie, don't bother watching this one.

As for the SRK-KJo fans, don't miss this film. This is the best film SRK-KJo pair is capable of making. You guys will find enough reasons to shed your tears.

Your comment in itself answers the question. You lost the plot. This isn't about American Muslims. Its about Muslims. Its about people. Equations. to each their own! A Lamborghini doesn't suit everyone's taste.

Karan Johar and Farah Khan is a damn joke, why are this retards making so movies? The people at the cinema are retards also if they go and watch movies like Main Hoon Na, om shanti om, kuch kuch hota hai WTF!? Those retards are the reason why the western world thinks bollywood are a joke with crappy plots and terrible acting.

Well bollywood is not so much better, but we got some talents like Mani Ratnam sir.

P.S Can't wait for his new flick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking as a middle aged white middle class American (Texan, specifically) woman, do not link this movie to any viewpoints of the western world thinking Bollywood is a joke. I am very limited in my exposure to these kinds of movies, but I watched the one movie about the guy winning a game show, name escapes me at the moment. I liked that one too. The only other time I've seen this genre mentioned was in passing and some clip of everyone dancing is shown with it. I'm not speaking for everyone either, I just wanted to give a different perspective on things. This movie didn't have a crappy plot at all; in fact, in a way I was reminded of Forrest Gump in the sense of being a part of some very big events. I found it interesting. My only complaint is the lead actor maybe over acted his disability a tad, but again, that's really hard to qualify because of the nature of the disability and how much it varies in degrees of severity. What one person's experience might be will not be another one's.
