I'm wondering if I missed something near the end. What happened to the young boy, Daniel? I'm sure I remember him coming upon Jannicke and Camilla and giving them a fright. Soon after this the police arrive and Jannicke and Camilla sit in a police car while the officers are searching the hospital, but where did the boy go?

He was taken by another woman in a different direction. He waved good-bye to Jannicke. The only thing I could get from that was that earlier in the film he had said he was waiting for his mom to pick him up. I wonder if that's what happened.
