like a series of books or something?

they kept going on about him being famous. i felt like i missed something not knowing the context before the movie

Agreed. We get 2 hours of waffle and yet no real back story as to why he's supposed to be this famous detective. If only we could have spent less time with the drunken half brother who felt sorry for himself.🐭
