Why wouldn't she let him kiss her?

In the first episode, and it is mentioned later too - it seemed incriminating in court and at the time it was really odd...
Any ideas?

Maybe she just didnt like kissing, or maybe she was thinking about her boyfriend and kissing seemed too personal? Its never really explained is it?
I think in court the lawyer just used it to suggest that she might have not wanted to sleep with him at all and that he raped her.

'Dude, looks like someone steamrolled harry potter'

She didnt want him to kiss her because she wanted him to take her roughly. That also accounted for some of the minor injuries discovered in the post mortem.

Or at least that's what he asked the court to accept. We didnt see it for ourselves.

Thank you, it did come off as incriminationg, thank you for the explanation, I can accept that, explains a lot :)

Same as whores or your one night stands. She just wanted no holds sex and not being made love to.

Assuming that this question is geared towards series 2, what woman would allow her rapist (who just happened to be her husband) kiss her? This man had been controling her every move and raping her for a 15 year period under this saintly facade. If a woman says no, she means no. Its sad to see such ignorance especially towards this horrific type of trauma.
