I'm only on the second episode, but oh and um *POSSIBLE SPOILERS*

But when Freddie first talks to Ben and offers him protection, Hooch(Pete Postlethwaite) tells him to refuse it, but then after the grass and glue(?) incident he says he's gonna need protection and to ask Freddie for it.

So what was that about? Or did I misunderstand something?

"I know it was you, Fredo. You broke my heart. You broke my heart!"

I'm surprised no one answered you. By now you've seen the movie. I wondered about that, but then later on I realized that Freddie had probably gotten to Pete in some way. They seemed to all be in Freddie's pocket one way or another.
