Is it just me or....

When i started watching this movie, i was aware that Cillian Murphy played in it. So as soon as i saw John i was like, hold on...is this Cilian? I then checked IMDB right away to see if it was him. So i wonder, am i the only one that thinks that he looks very very different as John, compared to him just being himself, Cillian Murphy? What i'm trying to say is, i didn't fully recognize him at all, not even during close-up scenes, how come? I watched Inception today and he looks very very different there...i found this very odd.

I thought so too for a moment, even though I was well aware it was him playing both roles, I chalked it up to his complete transformation from when he was Emma to when he became John - he had such a way with his mannerisms, how he stood/walked, how he held his face/mouth, his worried look he had all the time, and the hair too....I knew it was him but hardly recognized him at the same time....thought he looked much more like himself when he was Emma - which sounds funny, but any Cillian-fan will understand what I meant ;)

Yes, I had the same reaction, it was weird how much more recognizable he was as the female character then the male one.

Don't tell me, it's no use to me. Tell yourself if you want to but don't tell me.

It's his eyes. He naturally has piercing blue eyes. His eyes are brown in the film.

Cilian Murphy is wearing prosthetic makeup as John. So he does not look like himself.

At first I didn't recognize him as Emma. And I thought to myself "Gee, what a pretty girl". Then I saw the transition from Emma to John and I was like "Oh!". Am I the only one that thinks Mr Murphy makes quite a good looking lady?

Glad you mentioned that. I was thinking that throughout the entire movie when Emma was on the screen. He is definitely not a bad looking lady. I had no idea it was a man when I watched the first few scenes so I guess they did a good job casting this. He could definitely make some good money as a drag queen..though he might be too pretty for that anyway ;)

Have you seen Breakfast on Pluto? Cillian is the lead. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Yes totally. I didn't know who was in this going in. I saw Emma and thought, oh it's Cillian Murphy? Then they showed him as John and I was like "Oh no, I guess not..." But then the title credits affirmed it.

He barely looked like Cillian as John.

He is wearing Brown contacts and lost a ton of weight......
