When Raquel spent Christmas with Lucy at her place and got a phone call from her mother at the dinner table...what was that about??? "Forgive me mother...." and some other stuff she said....what's the story behind her relationship with her mom??

shareAt the beginning, her mother calls her, and she pretends to be busy. We don't see exactly what happened between them, but whatever it is, it's something she did and it made her want to avoid her mother.
shareWe don't know for sure but my theory is that since joining the household Raquel had not returned home and probably told her mother she could not take holidays or leave at Christmas. No doubt they spoke by 'phone at the house over Christmas but Raquel would have had to tell her mother she would be away and for the latter to call her mobile. I think Raquel's family were a little like Lucy's in that they worked hard for little gain but were loving. Raquel sacrificed herself in a way that Lucy was not willing to do and this would have been a painful realisation on Raquel's part.
