Battle scene in the lake

Did anyone else notice how the empress is standing in shallow water in the middle of the lake cleaning her horse and then all of a sudden, once the assassins come, she is fighting her attackers in water that is much deeper. This seemed like it should have stood out to somebody in the production and post-production stages.
