Communication Issues

Not once in the entire movie did one or the other deny the cheating. Hello? If they would have just spoken to each other instead of playing high school games, I guess there wouldn't have been a movie. And really, for the entire nine months? He missed out on the entire pregnancy of his first born child because of the inability to communicate with his wife. Very frustrating movie.

100% agree. This is one thing I really didn't like about the movie. I just found it very dumb. How many times did he accuse her of the baby being someone elses and not once did she correct him or ask him what the heck he was talking about.

I agree! That was the reason I didn't like this movie. Instead of a 10 minute conversation, they had to fight for 9 months?!?! It was really unrealistic. If someone accused me of cheating, I would deny it..? Which neither of them did.

Curtis was convinced that because he always used double condoms, he could not be the father, (instead of using the fact that doubling up actually makes them less effective, the movie decided to show near the end of the movie the fact that there was a recall on defective condoms as to being the reason) so in his mind, she had to have cheated to be pregnant. Angela saw Curtis with the over flirty client, and jumped to conclusions.

They both thought the other was deflecting by blaming the other from infidelity, something that real cheaters often do. In addition they had friends/her mom talking in their ears as to how to handle things, and perpetuating the thought that the other cheated. But you are right, if they listened to their own hearts, and sat down and actually talked with each other, they could have cleared the air.

He didn't completely miss the pregnancy, he was just in the background. You see him touching her belly as she sleeps once, and near the end you find out he still went to all the lamaze classes.
