I mostly enjoyed this (spoilers)

I enjoyed the concept, setting and action sequences. I think the idea of Predators visiting Earth during different times in history is an overdue one for the franchise (although it was already touched upon in 'Aliens vs. Predator').

However, I wasn't thrilled by the dialogue in 'Prey' and the tendency of Naru to talk to herself. Her dog companion, Sarii, was a little cheesy at times, too.

I also had a minor quibble with the Predator, which was more of a warrior looking for opponents to fight rather than the hunter stealthily picking off prey that it was originally conceived as.

It was slightly above average. The acting was competent. The story was weak. We never really got to know Naru and why she wanted to break from tribal traditions, or much about her brother except he was a skilled hunter. There was a hint of conflict between her and the hunters in her tribe but could have been fleshed out more. Her family and tribe were placeholders, only there to justify her being there. One character's sacrifice (I don't want to spoil it) is completely meaningless.
