The Predators in all of these films are cowards.
They have to be invisible before they attack. Cheap tactic. Like Gollum.
Once the cloak is destroyed they are dead meat.
That is true, earth weaponry is sufficient to take out a predator easily. I think it's supposed to be analogous to humans wearing camo to hunt deer. But the predator does not need to worry about distance or waiting for the humans to show up, he's just following them around and picking them off.
