I think it actually looks interesting. In case anyone is unaware, the director is the same guy who made 10 Cloverfield Lane (Dan Trachtenberg).

Hmm. The writing is what's gonna have to make it for me though. Trailer looks awesome, but I'm just really doubtful about this being believable.

Watching these Predator films has always required some amount of suspension of disbelief. But not all requirements are reasonable. I hope the movie can convincingly demonstrate how she can take out the predator with a bow and arrow.

I mean, even that bad ass scene with the axe. Super cool. But if the predator can literally catch an axe swing, that means frontal melee attacks are out. Maybe she'll have to blind him or something.

I think that the kill may come down to a team effort. It seems clear from the trailer that it won't be her alone who is going after the Predator, but we'll have to wait and see if it's just her that's involved in the final conflict, like Arnold was.

The trailer at least gives me hope that it will be a fun movie for a Friday night. And I did like 10 Cloverfield Lane.

That's what I'm hoping for too. I think someone else on this board also mentioned potentially teaming up with one of the europeans. I really hope it doesn't end up like a final girl situation, and if it does, I want it to be as convincing as how they set up Arnie's victory (even if they have to implement fake science like the mud thing XD).

Yeah, I enjoyed 10 Cloverfield Lane, and based on this trailer, I think it'll be well filmed for sure. So yeah, if that, it should be at least a fun ride. I'll just need to temper my expectations.

"Because you all think that I can't"... Christ almighty.

Yes, that would definitely be the mindset of a member of a tribal culture living in an extremely harsh environment, in which any one person not doing their part could mean everyone dying of starvation or exposure.

Are (what passes for) writers in Hollywood these days completely incapable of writing anything other than themselves into their stories?

If he protagonist weren't a beautiful, petite, perfectly coiffed little girl with lovely makeup this would look a lot more interesting. We'll see how they pull it off, or try to, but right now I'm not convinced that child can fight a Predator.

I know she looks young in the trailer but Amber Midthunder is like 25-years-old.

So she is almost killed by a bear (btw the way she uses that bow and the other weapons is ... hilariously bad) but she end killing a ... killing machine.

Ahem ... and that only because she is a woman and no one believes in her, but her PMS is stronger ...
