Lord Conqueror didn't die at the end of the first film. He just went nuts, chasing after the ghosts of people he killed. Cloud (Aaron Kwok) was stopped by Wind (Ekin) from killing Sonny Chiba because after all, this guy did raise the both of them. Then there was that thing Wind said to Cloud.
