Ending was stupid (spoilerish)

man, this movie was GAY! the ending was the stupidest ending I've ever saw, even stupider than those old black & white movies!

i sound like a 9 yr old, to you movie critics, but i HATE un-happy endings. maybe in a movie which has meaning and doesn't have ash in it, but not this movie.

you guys say this has meaning, (the frog eating the mouse, yadayadayada) but it was just a cover for a bad ending...

you are 9 yr old. grow up

Why would we make films that only end happily. Does life always end happily? Why would we only capture the moments that are happy? You do need to grow up and live yourself some life.

reply

life doesnt always end happily, thats why WE WATCH MOVIES WHEN WE ARE STRESSED OUT! NOT TO GET MORE STRESSED BY A STUPID ENDING!

Like I said, sad endings are great when they are emotional, eg. the main person dies at the end. And the gf / wife / kids are crying or whatever. Or another example would be 300. Great movie! But this is a light hearted movie meant for when you wanna chill out, they shouldn't hand sad endings.

Wow.

OP you should meet my aunt. she HONESTLY only sees movies with happy endings. I am not joking the only genre she will watch is romantic comedies...

i'm not kidding. you would get along.

i on the other hand actually appreciate an ambiguous/open ending...and even those that don't end happily as that is so hollywood and unlifelike--although there is happiness in life.

IMMO it's a pretty good movie and too a large extent it's good thanks to the reasonable ending. I do not perceive it as sad. The movie has simply a realistic ending.

Nikki did not end up in a relationship with the woman he loved, but are you sure he'd be happy if he had? She was materialistic and she could not love a guy who was not rich, at least not for a long time. I'm positive that had they married, it would be a disaster.

At the end it seems that he came to terms with the fact, that Heather had decided to stay with her rich husband. He moved on, got a job, and it appears that he's likely to have a normal, maybe even happy life. He ceased to be a parasite (a whore, actually) and is on the way to become a decent human being. And it's as good as it gets.

The movie is simply too good to be ruined by some crappy happy ending.

The movie was really really bad.. the script was so bad that it makes me realise i could write a better script myself

9 year old: A "good" ending in my opinion is one that provokes some thought, discussion, something. Maybe you learn something.

A good ending is not one where you turn the film off and never ever think about the film again because it was so sanitised and pasteurised to be a "happy" film with a "nice ending."

SPOILERS...

Psychojack: I understand everyone has different tastes in movies, but I thought the script was pretty tight, knowledgeable, had a nice twist of satire and psychology and I was laughing often, plus waiting for the next scene to unfold! I'll watch this a second time too.

No you couldn't. This was actually one of the better films to come out and as said earlier, was enhanced by the fact it had a realistic ending. In actual facts everything balances out. You wouldn't want someone who breaks people's hearts all the time just for materialistic purposes to get a 'happy ending'. His lesson was learned through himself having to take responsibility and getting himself a job where as his woman counterpart continues with the possible contingencies her lifestyle has.
It was the appropriate ending to have and arguing that it should have been a better ending goes to show you didn't understand the movie at all. Go and watch a generic romantic comedy like 'The proposal' if you want to switch off and clap at the end. This isn't the same genre.

i agree bad ending, i expected it to be good one..

The ending redeemed the whole movie. It's the best ending that could have been in such movie. Yeah, plot was OK, but I needed a little bit more, but then again, the movie is not bad and ending was very good. Just like I expected. He got what he deserved.

reply

Not only he was a player but he used women to get whatever he wanted, why on earth would he deserve a good ending? Sure we sympathize with the guy and want him to get a good ending, but it seems the perfect ending for what i thought it was a very nice story.

reply

you do sound stupid but i agree with you.. it was kinda gay haha

If at first you don't succeed, call it version 1.0

I actually liked the ending, exactly because it wasn't the typical happy ending. In the scene where he leaves Heather's apartment and walks in the street, I was afraid she was going to show up running before him and they would end up together. I'm glad that didn't happen - it would have been too much of a cliche, plus this heartbreak was part of his character's development and the change in his life.
