Wasn't it awesome how that damn tail was bugging the frog?

Hey, I wanted to see if something else happened in the end, but the cinema guy kicked me out.

So, was it just the frog and the tail until the very end?

yes. the frog swallows the tail too by the end of the credits, and then it ends.

good movie, i think many people just can't take kutcher seriously, judging him by his public persona. maybe they feel some sort of hypocrisy in him, so they don't like the film because of it. i think it's a mistake, the film is very well made, it's about something serious and important, and has no happy ending which is brave decision for such movie. it maybe didn't earn hundreds of millions of dollars, like that other terrible movie with diaz, but it's way better and meaningful.

Sometimes the frog is just a frog. I think it's better than cliche and over-stretched metaphors.

It was a metaphor that Nick was a frog in a world where women kiss a lot of frogs before they meet their prince. Nick was realizing his destiny that he was no woman's prince and was the frog in so many womens' lives

i thought it was to show that ashton had changed by the end of the movie and instead of other people feeding and taking care of him, he was finally feeding and taking care of something.

dimagic, you're doing the same thing you claim you don't want other's doing. that 'terrible' movie with Diaz aka 'what happens in vegas' isn't a terrible movie at all. It's one of my favorite comedies of the last several years. My sis and I watch it everytime we run across it on HBO. And it's on HBO a lot.

I liked this movie a lot too but finally became kind of board or thought I knew were it was going so I bailed. Might have to finish it some time.

The closing credits are part of the movie that you paid to see. You're entitled to sit there and watch it until the screen goes blank!

it probably wasnt the cinema guy, probably it was because he pirated the movie and they cut out the credits (they do that to make the movie smaller)

Per Ashton's commentary the frog was real and it was an African Bullfrog. Also he said it had to do with the whole "kissing a lot of frogs to find a prince" thing.
He also said take your own metaphor and drop it in here and the answer is yes.

Absolutely briljant. I think it was a toad btw. Never ever looked the credits always through with so much interest :-). Just waiting when will the tail go in and guess wat it was about when the catering was credited. Briljant part of Hubba untill the verry end with his satisfacturing burps.
Not a verry entertainig movie for the first half to me but I must say Ashton Kutcher looks like a verry good actor.

Depends on the species. Since bullfrogs are large, they're likely to eat large prey, including rodents, snakes, birds, and other frogs.

Smaller frogs like types of tree frogs, usually eat things like crickets and moths.

Hated the ending. I am horified of frogs and insanly scared of mice so the 2 together sheesh....could have went my whole life without seeing that.

Actually, I think it would have been better to have ended the movie when he's leaving Samantha's house for the last time, after he had delivered the groceries.

yeah, but, see, then the metaphor (which blueharvest nailed correctly BTW) wouldn't have meant anything...y'see, there was foreshadowing halfway through the film, when he "apologized" to the frog when he "insulted" it but by the end he realizes that in a world divided into frogs and princes, he's a frog...see? No snakes. Frogs. And princes. Princes. Frogs. No snakes. Get it?

Ahh, what's the point?

In my humble opinion, the ending is brillant in several different respects: first, it accurately distills the theme(s) of the movie with a rather simple but visually compelling metapor (no matter how offensive or disgusting it may seem to some; obviously, life isn't often pretty). Read into it whatever one might regarding the message, it is hard to take one's eyes off the scene until the end. Second, I believe that the prior posts suggest several different and valid interpretations: that's good - movies should offer at least a little something to think about, dispute, and discuss. Third, the ending clearly bucks the typical fairy tale ending - and that can be hard to swallow...

The frog is my uncle. It was his first major role and he loved doing it. The director told him that he was one of them most important characters in the film, funny thing is, my uncle said he almost choked on that mouse but thankfully everything went off without a hitch.

Are we being serious or saracastic in this thread? I honestly can't tell. I don't know much about filmmaking, but the frog ending seemed unbelievably lazy, like something tacked on at the end by an 8th grader trying to finish a report.
