Phil Davis/Ray Miles
Reminds of a young pre-drug burnout Gary Busey.
sharePhil Davis is a much better actor
shareNot British, so I don't have the opportunity to see these actors as much as if I were. First noticed Phil Davis in Bleak House [2005], in which he played the thoroughly disgusting character, Smallweed, who pretended to be infirm and had his kids [as I recall] carry him in a sedan chair. Whenever he felt an "attack" coming on, he demanded that they shake him up. Despite his awfulness, my daughter and I loved his performance, and referred to him as "Shake-Me-Up Dude."
That was followed by another memorable performance in the first episode of Sherlock. We were delighted to see "Shake-Me-Up Dude" again.
So, when he showed up in Whitechapel, he was already an actor whom we were always happy to see. His performance here certainly maintained his stature in my and my daughter's eyes.
Gary Busey was never the actor that Phul Davis is. I thoroughly enjoy Phil Davis whether he's playing an awful person or a good guy. Besides Bleak House I've seen him in George Gently, Silk and Whitechapel. I have seen him in more things than Gary Busey.
