I actually found it really light-hearted and 'feel good.' It's nice to have a change from all the depression of Eastenders and Corrie, I liked the music and the characters - maybe it's just me?

I love this stuff, Im a 23 year old male, and I swear I aint gay haha!
People complaining about the acting need to hush, look at harry potter, those kids cant act for nowt but each film continues to be a hit.
Its hard to find people who can sing/dance and act (whilst looking good), acting skills come with experience, I already see an improvement from the first episode.

I like it! Its just something fun to watch on a sunday night! I think after all the hype people were just gonna use any excuss to bad mouth it! But so much on tv is all political and depressing so why cant crtics just enjoy sum light hearted fun for a change!

Well, stop saying that it's a rip off of HSM.
It is a musical and when teens involved, it mostly be in school. HSM is about jocks playing basketball but want to be a performer. These kids are all in a performing art schools. And the story is not even close. It's a musical, it is supposed to be that way.
It need some more touching up with the plot. But 3rd episode is getting better, so hopefully it will be entertaining again next time.
I love it so much! I have the DVD and getting the soundtrack tomoz when it's released! It's so good! The dancing is fabulous (Arlene is a genius) and the music is so good it's on a whole new plant! Gary Barlow is a songwriting musical genius! I love Picking up the pieces, proud and I can't wait for Without you that the whole cast sing together (heard a clip of it on the behind the scenes documentaries and it sounds so incredible). I soooooo hope it gets renewed for series 2! Otherwise I'll cry! It's so good! Even if the series goes straight to DVD!

Shame they arent making a second series.
It's not that I don't enjoy it, it's that I find it trashy. It's entertaining, but on the the same level as, say, Skins.
I get the feeling it's very much playing to what the writers perceieve to be every teenagers dream. It's pure, light hearted fantasy. I just wish they could have picked some people that were better at acting, or at least written it so as not to have such stereotyped characters.
Its enjoyable and I would still watch it. I loved Girls Aloud in the last one.

Honestly, I did not enjoy last week's episode. But I gave it another chance with the second episode and it was a major improvement. Second episode was way better than the first, I'm going to see next week's and HOPEFULLY the series will get better as it goes along.

I don't think they could have found better actors if they tried. The six main casts are all majorly super talented triple threats. They were picked from hundreds of thousands of people from normal people to to those in talent agencies and at performing arts schools, etc and they worked damn hard to get there! I think they are brilliant!
And even if the writers wanted it to be light harded and fantasy-esque i don't see the harm in it. Especially with all the crap going on in the world these days!

I loved it :) I don't really like the fact that is (really) a rip off of HSM (songs) and Fame (characters) but I do like the way its been brought together at the end of the day.

Yeah it rips off HSM, but a lot of the best films/shows out there are rip offs. It's how you spin it that counts. from what I've seen the characters are quite different from those in HSM so thats enough for me.
I was actually looking forward to this because of the involvement of Gary Barlow, Guy Chambers, Mark Owen, Eliot Kennedy and others (all the songwriters). However ... I'm afraid to say that Gary, Guy, Mark, Eliot and the others have stuck their names to a turkey ... because the show itself is bloody awful!
I adore Gary Barlow - but even he couldn't make me sit through this pile of rubbish!

shareNo i like it, i think its really good, and i dont understand why it wudnt do well its like the british version of high school musical, except i think they could possibly make the storylines better when it comes to the different characters problems, like claudine's its not really somethin to be upset about, whereas if she was battered, n locked in cudboards n stuff it might of bin more interestin, i just think there playin it safe they really cud branch it out more, but i love it!
