WHY DID BETH LIE?

Hi All, so why did Beth lie to Adam? What exactly did Adam read in her diary that incensed him?

Btw- impressive movie, 7 / 10 :)

The diary said "meet mom and dad at theater" or something like that

Beth didn't tell Adam that her patents would be there because he probably wouldn't have been ready to meet them at that point.

Then she pretended like "hey mom,dad what are you doing here!"

But of course she already knew.

Summing up, it was a white lie, and no reason to react that way.
But he did it because of his problem™.
