It astounds me that people don't understand that this is the pilot

the pilot for the show.

I got into somewhat of an argument with someone on another site (which normally I don't do) because someone could not grasp the concept that this wasn't originally intended to be just episodes of the show and NOT a theatrical feature.

It was in one of those "I'm thinking about watching The Clone Wars" threads, and as I always do when I see one of those, I said "yeah definitely watch the show, it's great. Make sure you check out the movie too, which is essentially a few episodes edited together, which most people didn't seem to understand" which was naturally followed by the usual "hate train" of people talking about how bad the Clone Wars movie is.

No one seems to understand that the Clone Wars "movie" is just the pilot episodes smooshed together. This one person kept saying "oh but Ebert hated it!" and "well if it's supposed to be judged as a theatrical feature, why was it released in theaters?" and just would / could NOT understand how this "movie" came about.

Rant over lol. I just can't stand it when people won't listen.

I'm surprised that people can't even understand the political parts of this movie.
