A good film

As an American I'm not familiar with the causes of the Israeli Lebanon war. I only know that I was around 13 or 14 when the Sabra Shatila massacre happened, and I remember my father talking about it very disgustedly. I remember him being happy when the Israeli people took to the streets to protest about it. (we're not Jewish)

So, even though this movie wasn't an overview of politics, I found it very powerful, particularly the end, because it brought back my own (dim) memories of that time, as an American, far away from the situation. I remember very vividly the article about the massacre in Time magazine (or was it Newsweek?) I think this incident, along with Jonestown a few years earlier, was my first exposure to a truly horrible news event in the world where many many people died. So, this movie brought back memories for me as well.

I really don't understand the hackles being raised about this movie from people who either think it let the Israelis off easy, or "compared Israelis to Nazis" which the movie did NOT do. The movie is about ONE MAN's feelings and recollections about what happened.
