Junk ancient Asian history

In this movie, "The Divine Weapon", Ming China is the villain, attempting to conquer or control Korea by underhanded, devious means? Hogwash. Who's the screenwriter for this twisted version of Asian history?

Now, it is true that at the beginning of the T'ang Dynasty, the Chinese emperor Li Shimin dispatched a large, Chinese invasion force south over the Yalu River with the intention of conquering northern Korea. But his invasion force met with strong Korean resistance and ultimately defeat. But that was in the 7th century.

In real history, the Ming Dynasty and Chosen (Korea) maintained a strong political, economic, and military alliance. Korea was officially a vassal tributary state of the Ming yet were proud of their 'younger' brother status to 'elder' brother, Ming. (The term, China, did not exist at that time) When the Japanese invaded Korea in 1592, the Ming court dispatched a large military expedition to assist the Koreans in driving the Japanese out. There was never a time during the Ming Dynasty in which the Ming court determined to conquer Korea. The Ming had everything they needed from a loyal vassal, Korea.
