Questions about the language

Three questions regarding language:

1) Do people really talk like that while speaking Hindi? Where every third or fourth sentence is actually in English? I realize that plenty of languages use single words or short phrases in English for things that might not translate well; but in this case they speak several sentences in Hindi, then a full English sentence. That seems odd. Do most Hindi speakers know English?

2) Following that, numerous scenes were fully in English when American characters were speaking. I felt it odd that the Netflix version still displayed English subtitles during these scenes, but it didn't bother me. Did the Indian version display Hindi subtitles during these scenes?

3) Following that, what was the deal with the classroom scene? Clearly it was filmed in English, but the Netflix version was dubbed in Hindi. I've seen it in English on YouTube. Muslims often link to it because they think it's just a short pro-Islam anti-US Government video, and they don't realize that the professor is a terrorist and Riyaz is undercover. Seems very strange that they would dub that scene, but not any other English-speaking scenes.

Can anyone offer any insight?

reply

The classroom scene is dubbed in Hindi for the Indian audience.

Upper class Indians do speak a lot of English with their Hindi. She was a professor, so a true depiction
