Tommy Tedesco

I remember his name from back in my jazz fanatic days (late 70's early 80's) being mentioned in the same breath as other famous session guitarists working in Los Angeles like Larry Carlton and Lee Ritenour..

I knew he put out a few solo jazz records and played a lot of L.A. clubs in those days. Never got around to following his stuff though.

So he was a wrecking crew alumni. Guess I'll have start listening in. Good to see this documentary salute their contribution to the music so many have loved and admired over the years.

It would appear he had a great sense of humour too!

Tedesco used to have a mostly monthly column in Guitar Player magazine called "Studio Log" I used to read. Each month would be a different session he worked. He would list the instruments played, other session players and producers there, what he was paid and a tab of what he played. They were also pretty humorous. If I remember right, his Gong Show appearance was one of the columns.
