Intelligent and Atmospheric - loved it!
I was really impressed by this film - the quality of the cinematography, the wonderful use of locations, a great cast and a demanding and intelligent screenplay combine to thought-provoking effect.
This is by no means a "by the numbers" film, and requires both attention and empathy, but it rewards the viewer with a great film experience.
I thought Colin Morgan in particular was excellent as a young man who is unworldly (in both senses) but with a wisdom of his own. Nathalie Press' performance is brave too and she expresses beautifully the damage that has been done to this poor girl, who finds it so hard to make human connections.
There are lyrical and poetic scenes, making wonderful use of the windswept highlands and some difficult subjects are treated with real compassion.
Well worth seeing, it deserves a wide audience.
