A SLAP IN THE FACE TO HAWAIIAN PEOPLE!!

Whats with Q'Orianka Kilcher's over-sized BOTOX upper lip???? Princess Kaiulani was so beautiful and she definitely didnt have a fat upper lip, all. While Im sure he's a nice young lady, I didnt even think Q'Orianka Kilcher was pretty enough to play a Native American Princess either. I cant but wonder how is she getting these parts?

While I cannot fault Q'Orianka Kilcher for not being native Hawai'ian, were there really no native women good enough for the role? I definitely know that I'm not alone in feeling this way. This being part of my history, my blood, my people, I get rather offended when another ethnicity is picked to portray us (it's like Blue Crush all over again, but WORSE). Hawai'ians already get lumped into the "brown people" category far too often

Q'orianka is getting these parts on something called TALENT! And another thing, her lips have always been like that. ( no Botox) and I doubt she gives a damn what you or anyone else thinks. She's still acting and that's all that matters. I bet you hated her in "The New World " too huh, that bandwagon is long gone honey and you are on your own ;-)

It's called ACTING. All actors & actresses play different parts that require them to look different, act different, speak different....

She may not be very pretty, but she seems to be a good actress. Lots of pretty actresses can't act, and acting overrides looks.

Lastly, the word BOTOX is the 2nd most misused word other than "RACIST". Botox is something that makes wrinkles go away. It doesn't make things bigger or smaller. Nobody puts botox in their lips, lol... you silly dingaling!

I thought Q'Orianka Kilcher performance was uneven, but at times very strong. Personally I find her to be attractive.

However Princess Kaiulani is clearly an important historical figure to Hawai'ians and some effort should have been made to find a native actress. For instance, I like Henry Cavill as Superman, but they can't find a Jewish American actor? They cast a white kid as Goku in the live action Dragonball movie? A British Kid is playing Spider-Man?

The only exception I can think of it the casting of Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes. Downey is a, popular, and exceptional actor, so casting him as an English icon is a fairly safe bet.

I'm sure a talented Native Hawaiian could've been selected for the part. Other races portraying other races... Hollywood doesn't do blackface anymore, but they still do this.

A movie is made to make money. Name one Hawaiian actress that could have made this film more financially successful. The film already had major issues in regards to writing and casting an absolute no name to star as the lead will just lose money for all involved.

The OP is pretty shallow on top of that, the main complaint being that Q'Orinka is not attractive enough compared to the real princess.

Any of them. How do you think people get famous in the first place?
