Finding Bliss: just plain stupid

I thought this movie was stupid and completely boring. The script was awful and the characters were unbelievable. I thought I was watching a bad high school play. As a critic said it was an "unbearably labored script" and there was nothing interesting about this movie. I recommend you don't see it.

i find it interesting that the staging, camera work, photography and mise en scene are pretty much at the level of a porno or, to be generous, a cinemax soft core film. its almost like the director refuses to shoot anything but establishing shots with the camera at eye level. this is the case even when it negatively affects the scene. since i doubt the director is making some statement about the visual style of the adult film business, i have to believe she either doesn't know better, or doesn't care. either way, it colors the film as amateurish, and, when combined with a weak script and poor performances, begs the question as to not only how this film got made, but was able to pull together a relatively well known cast.

sorry. not very good.

I have to disagree. I thought the movie was funny, which this was the goal of the film anyhow. It's a comedy, you really shouldn't expect an art house classic with such films.

I agree with you. I found it funny, salty, offbeat, and smart. Certain performances were dumb, because the characters were supposed to be dumb. but despite the amount of porn shown, the movie is about Judie's ambition as a film maker, and that's the thread that makes it rise up (no pun intended.) The writing was witty, and the relationship between the leads was well done.

I kind of liked it, its no masterpiece or anything but it was funny.
