No Naval Police? Really?

I am like dramas like this and it has a top notch cast. However, I did wonder about its accuracy. Would the Royal Navy allow a civilian police officer on board a nuclear submarine? The Navy does have its own police force, just as the Army has one. Think NCIS.

The reason that Amy Silva is sent is explained away early on. The boat was still in Scottish waters when the death took place. This seems like a dramatic liberty designed to create conflict between the Navy and the Police.

I agree, also wouldn't The Met and the National Crime Agency get involved too?

The Navy certainly have police, but do they have detectives as well? That was one thing I was wondering.

The other is, why local police? Isn't there a national police equivalent to the FBI to use?

The third thing is that the overall reason for the stunt appears dubious. Too much effort and loss of assets for too little reward.

Yeah. All London needs to do is call Washington and request that Jethro Gibbs and the team fly out to investigate this incident. Things will be wrapped up in half a heartbeat
