The main characters occasionally speak English (?)

I found it odd that two of the main characters, S.I. Sanjay Shellar and AIG Satam, occasionally speak to each other in a mixture of what I assume to be Marathi (the official language of Mumbai) and English. Have some English words and phrases become part of the mainstream vocabulary of India? Or perhaps there are no 'local' expressions for what the characters were trying to say? Or might the insertion of a little English here and there be an allusion to the fact that many foreign countries still consider 'serial killers' to predominately be American and British 'afflictions'? Just wondering....

Yes, some English words have become a part of the vocabulary of India. Not because there are no local expressions for those words but because we are used to it. This is the way most Indians talk.

Thanks for explaining that to me. I don't know very much about Indian culture, but it's never to late to learn. :-)

It's an honor that you not knowing the Indian culture, watched this movie to find out what it was without any bias, and sad plight of us Indians who missed this gem of a movie when it was in the theatres.

My sorry plight being that I just saw this and thoroughly enjoyed what was a very prompt and to the point narration of facts and fiction.

Kudos to the team that made Stoneman Murders!
