Why Is Ally Sheedy Even in This Movie?

Why was Ally Sheedy even in this movie? I think she had, what, one line?

Why bother?

reply

LOL. I felt the same way when the credits rolled, I hadn't even recognised her!

***So I've seen 4 movies/wk in theatre for a 1/4 century, call me crazy?**

reply

I didn't even see her?! Who was she or what was her line?

reply

What scene?? I missed it.

reply

she was the mom's sister. she came over to drive the men to the airport and had the conversation about picking up the mail from the mailbox and why couldn't the neighbors do it so she didn't have to drive out of her way.

reply

Thanks!

reply

aw, really? thanks! i missed that completely. i loved her in breakfast club!

reply

That was Ally Sheedy???

reply

Either she's friends with the cast or crew or she just wanted to be a part of the movie...it was an insignificant role though.

I LOVE Ally but it's not like she's up to much lately so I guess why not be in it? :\

She might be friends or something with a cast/crew member or maybe she tried out for a bigger part and they gave her a consolation prize.

reply

Agreed. I love her as well, but she's not in much these days. I have no idea if it's because she can't find anything or she hasn't found the right thing. But I'd see her in anything, and even though she was hardly in this it was still pretty great to see her in a movie.

I only do it with superheroes.

I suspect it's because the director ended up needing to make cuts and many of her scenes ended up on the floor. Perhaps there was a whole storyline involving her that had to be killed. It seems unlikely that he would hire an actress of her stature for the tiny role that ended up in the finished film. I would love to have seen more of her in the movie.

reply

She hasn't aged well that's for sure.

reply

Her casting was a distraction (I recognized her immediately) because I kept waiting for her character to re-appear in the story . . . . and she didn't.
