2 pretty people in Hollywood

Maybe I'm jealous, or just forlorn.

Is anyone else sick of this betrayal made right because the characters are pretty?

Don't get me wrong, I loved Adam Scott's performance, I think he carried the entire movie.

But what I got from this movie was that his (Adam Scott) character was messed up and he ended up screwing over his own brother whom he professed to protect just to get his nuts off. And then all of a sudden he was OK with his Dad who was just another sonofabitch that screwed over his wife (Adam's mother) woman.

This movie comes out being pretty sick if you think about it. The only morally good character is the younger brother (and i didn't like him cuz he was basically a chump).

Am I missing something here?

What could have been a good view on life's lessons in morality fell flat and ended poorly.

Seemed to me it ended way out of skew, with no real consequences for anyone, and no real outcomes to the situations that were presented.

I won't change direction, and I won't change my mind. -Eddie Vedder

I completely agree. I didn't really get the plot. There was no clear cut beginning, middle, and end and there really wasn't any character development. They were all awful people and I wasn't rooting for anyone. The younger brother and the friend that he worked with were the only redeeming characters.

Personally I felt this was a poorly written story. Scott's acting was the only reason I continued watching.

Agree with the two comments above. All of the characters (except the younger brother) were morally bankrupt and there was no authentic redemption in any of the characters - and having strong feelings and emotions cannot change that fact.
