Awesome

The book is amazing!

I have seen Howard Marks doing book tours - he is so charming and charasmatic. I hope Rhys Ifans has matured enough to carry this role off.

I agree. The first (or it might be the second - a rewrite?) was better in my opinion, although Marks disagrees and said it was a bit disjointed. When I read that [His life and high times] many moons ago, I was thinking as I read it what a great film it would make.

Does anyone have any idea when this is going to be released in the UK? I think this might warrant one of my rare visits to the cinema.

*beep* Howard Marks. Just another greedy POS.

Howard Marks is considered a legend in Wales. This I disagree with, just another drug dealer really. However it cant be denied that he is an interesting character and the book this is based on is well written and moderately insightful.
This film though, good grief what a waste of two hours. Rhys Ifans went to the mumbling good for nothing school of acting, clearly he was only picked to play marks due to his birthplace. The story was incredibly tedious, leaving out many of the more interesting parts of the book. Considering the grand scale of Marks' misadventures, the plot was very dreary and small scale.
The only saving grace of this boring tripe was david thewlis' hilarious turn as Mccann.

welcome to the thunderdome, bitch.

Marks made his mark on the world, a decent measure of a man if there ever was one. "another greedy pos", a statement made by a bitter failure, abortion of a human being
