who was the GILF that patch up Rosen?

for being that old she was still doable.

reply

I am assuming it is Rosen's Ex-Wife.

She didn't seem THAT old, she was like 45 to 55 years old.

Young enough to think it's acceptable to use words like "GILF" and "doable".

I have friends who were grandparents at 36. I think they had 5 grandkids by the time they were 42? I also have several other friends with grandkids before their 40s, as well.

That's extraordinarily young for modern, educated people. Your trailerpark-bound associates are an exception.

He's also full time military and could kick your pansy ass from here back to Kandahar. His girls will make up his cheerleading squad.

Another friend just moved back here from Mexico where she taught English after getting her GED. I know her eldest she had at 15 is in medical school, not sure about her second eldest, but what I've pieced together on FB is that she's on a similar track as her brother.

Awesome. You guys should join all your trailers into a giant voltron trailer and call it a mansion. Then you can declare yourself the independent nation of NoKandaharians and impregnate all your sisters and nieces the day they turn 12.

What a lovely way to burn...

reply

lmao, burn.

We were grandparents when my wife was 36. I guarantee you we make better money and live in a nicer place, that we actually own, than you. So take your jealous, petty self back to whatever urban cesspool you crawled out of and stop annoying the adults.

I guess I haven't caught-up to that episode, yet. I'll still "play."

As far as the actors go, Stathairn, who has always reminded me so much of my father and more so of my grandfather, is in real life about five years younger than my father. Lisa Ryder is about five years younger than me. Ryder does look mature (and I don't mean old) for her age from the photos I've just seen. (I just look young and "cute" for my age. I'd rather look mature, which I'm not using here as an euphemism for old. Lol.) It's not unusual for men to wait to marry women who are at the very least ten years younger than they are; so, with Lisa's mature look maybe they can pass her off as being within that range. Some men marry much younger women, of course, and the actress who plays their daughter was born around the time I was graduated from high school. Given the fact that Rosen is a doctor (and PhDs are known for this practice, as well) its plausible that he waited until nearing his forties to marry a woman about half his age and was still easily able to have a child. (We are now learning that the age of the father does matter, though, regarding birth defects and other issues like neurological issues such as autism.) That all fits with both their real life ages and what might be their approximate character ages, given Rosen's profession. I haven't seen an episode with a grandchild, yet, so I don't know when his daughter might have had a child. That could have been at any age past puberty for her.

Regarding the trailer park comments and my comment about "I'll play," I meant that I'd add my own experience, and thought I'd just add the facts above first. Some viewers here, including the one who made that comment, could be vey young. They might not realize how common and expected it was for respectable people to marry young. That included college educated people, as well. My parents were married during college and had me a year or so after college. Perfectly normal in "the olden days," as my young son calls them. Lol. All of the mothers I knew we're either teachers or former teachers and/or stay-at-home mothers. Our fathers were all extremely successful. I happened to be of a generation that was hit by divorce hard so my friends and I didn't marry as early or those who did often had "starter marriages" without children. So, our parents didn't become grandparents at young ages. But previously that was the norm. When I see photographs of my grandmother at just a few years older than I am now she was already a grandmother and both my grandparents and parents look older than my husband and I do now. Times have changed.

On the other hand, while it was rude I can understand the assumption the person made about someone so young having so many grandchildren at such a young age being poor. If you consider the economy today then someone who has that many children at any age is really pushing it, financially speaking, much less someone so young. It's hard enough today even for a single person to get a higher education and purchase a home and feel they have the job security some generations once felt they had. That is, to have all of that without assistance from family. I was fortunate and had such assistance, but I realize most people are out there making it on their own. To say they have several children by such a young age or are a grandparent of several grandchildren by such a young age usually would mean inter-generational poverty, given all the variables I mentioned, and just statistically speaking.

I see no one here ever watched Andromeda.

Good call.

Nina from Alphas (Laura Mennell) guest starred on Lisa Ryders Andromeda a while back and now Lisa Ryder guest stars in Laura's show Alphas.
