Who Else Liked The Show?

I watched the pilot and I have to say I really liked the show.

The show feels like it will get really good as it goes on and builds momentum; I just hope it gets good ratings so it stays on the air and has this opportunity.

i liked it, didn't love it. Has room for improvement, but the promise it holds is still there

reply

It has potential, and I would rather watch this than Family Guy.

It's satire. That would be like saying the pigs in Animal Farm should stop being so intolerant and power-hungry. Judge isn't telling people they should be environmentally aware, his characters are. And since they are shown as rather absurd individuals, it's hardly an endorsement on the show's part.

It certainly has alot of potential. They just need to keep the characters different and interesting. Miles better than family guy.

reply

Definitely has potential. The scene at the organic grocery was very funny, especially when she looks at the apples. I love Whole Foods, but the writers definitely nailed it on the head. I lost it when "farm raised catfish" kept going from good to bad.

They did? Whole Foods around here hardly has any organic produce at all. They used to have tons. Seems it's being sent off to parts unknown these days.

Love it! Mike Judge knows how to make shows!

IT'S THE MOVIE! NOT THE BOOK! NOT THE SHOW! NOT THE COMIC! GET OVER IT!

Was pleasantly surprised. It sounded like a dumb concept, but I enjoyed this quite a bit. However, I still don't think he'll get many eps out of it before the jokes run cold, but here's hoping MJ proves me wrong.

This show had me laughing so hard, I couldn't breathe (I'm taking in part, it's not because of my Asthma), but I loved it. I don't feel it's going to last long, since I haven't seen a commercial of the show, and had to hit the internet (IMDb, to be exact) to learn it was coming on.

Loved it. Favorite character - Che! I will be following his desperate search for animal protein closely lol.

reply

I liked it. i feel though it will die quick. it wont get enough ratings even though the show is goode.

reply

Great show. Funny watching naive, hypocritical liberals.

reply

You people have terrible senses of humor if you found this crap funny.

Wow. Sorry that it wasn't a Family Guy clone, you'd probably would've found it funny.

Weird is the new normal.

Ok, the goode family is a light-hearted show that pokes fun at the left. (It also poked fun at over zealous christians as many seem to forget.) A video tape of an Iraqi executing a toddler is a horrific event in which an innocent life is being taken. I find it very insolent of you to even think of comparing the two. You seem to be the kind of person that this show is trying to make a point about. I am very sorry if the thought that a person would even dare to criticize someone other than the far petrified you so much that you had to compare it to one of the most horrid events of our lifetime. I hope that one day you learn to be more tolerant and take events such as the deaths of innocent children more seriously.

Me.

I loved this show! I thought it was one of the funniest things I've seen on TV in a long, long time. I hope people catch on, and it has a long run...

reply

THE GOODE FAMILY IS F'N AWESOME!!!!!!!

I agree that there is a decent chance it won't last too long though. I hope it does.

Richie: "Dad...you were never dying."
Royal: "But I'm gonna live!"

Great Show. Kudos M. Judge, again..!

It's been fun to read some of the knee jerking comments on this board.. It's amazing how little a sense of humor certain extremists in a given 'interest' group actually possess, and it sounds like a nerve in some of them has been pinched by this show after only two broadcasts.

Eventually, this show will certainly foment some sort of action group, or 'media concern', which will try to ban it, and suppress it and its advertisers just as the unecessary new laws surrounding all of the environmental 'green' hysteria is being passed by our brain dead Congress here in these United States.

Otherwise.. can't wait to see what they do with the Emerald Triangle bunch up in Northern California.. I can 'smell' that episode coming-soon from a mile away!

I thought it was pretty funny. I'll watch it again.

I am still laughing about the show. I'm willing to bet a lot of people are going to have their feelings hurt by this show and so it won't last long but I plan to enjoy it while it lasts.

There were just so many great lines. It was like watching Arrested Development. I especially like when he tells his wife that it is okay to wear flag pins again now that the election is over.

reply

Be sure to tell everyone you know to watch it, or just have them turn on there tv and change it to ABC at 9:00est and turn it off at 9:30est.

reply

"I'm willing to bet a lot of people are going to have their feelings hurt by this show "

I doubt it. The stereotypes are taken to such an extreme, I can't imagine anyone could see enough of themselves in these charters to realize they were the brunt of some sort of joke.

I suspect more people will be turned off because ABC doesn't advertise it enough, (I didn't even know t was on yet) or the fact that it really is only mildly funny (like King of the Hill)

"There were just so many great lines. It was like watching Arrested Development."

Ok, I was kinda giving you the benefit of the doubt until I read this line. Like AD? You just lost all your cred. I can't even believe I relied to this...

reply

I thought the show was pretty good(e).
I can't believe that after just ONE episode,
some people are coming on here and bashing the program.
Well, actually I can believe it - this is imdb ("Imbeciles Debating")
after all.
I think the show may be a bit over the heads of the probable Family Guy fans ("Ha ha! They said 'Penis' again! Hahaha!)who likely stumbled onto the board.
Why is it that idiots feel the strongest need to offer their opinion?

Characters and themes from programs evolve over time.
KOTH did.
The Simpsons certainly did.

Didn't love it, but liked it. Keep it coming.

Exactly. I remember Sit Down Shut Up taking lots of heat for only holding like 65% of the Simpsons lead in for it's premier. (We know how long that lasted before getting it's time slot moved). If this thing couldn't even hold 50% of it's lead in for it's premier, then it's in real trouble. I mean REAL trouble...

reply

Ah, the old "if you didn't like it, you didn't get it" fallacy rears it's head once more.

Why is it that idiots feel the strongest need to offer their opinion?

I don't know. Why did you feel such a strong need?
