What type of mentality watches this?

You enjoy watching a woman being tortured, then hope that she kills him in the end. Truthfully, what type of entertainment is this shite ??

reply

I didn’t see anyone being tortured. I saw a movie about a mentally unstable guy who fell in love with a woman who he found out was a serial killer and kept her captive to keep her from killing others and to try to find a way to rehabilitate her. Did you watch a different movie?

reply

Moonglum9 Yes Moonglum9 I watched this fucking steaming pile of trash. I WANT TO ASK YOU PERSONALLY MOONGLUM9 what possible satisfaction can you gain from this pure garbage??:???
Is your mind so fucked that you cannot find enjoyment or enrichment from a quality film??? Are you so fucked in the mind that you must stoop to this low form of menstrual nonsense to get your juvenile idiot rocks off??? I want to know, I NEED TO KNOW, what form of life are you? Have you ever viewed films by Fellini or Kubrick or Bergman, NO, I'm sure you have not. Your mind would not comprehend such things of a higher nature. Instead you want to see brutality, murder, and STUPID FUCKING NONSENSE.

ANSWER THIS FUCKING POST MORON, SHOW WHY YOU ARE AN IDIOT. DO IT FUCKHEAD, REPLY WITH AN ANSWER TO SHOW YOU ARE A BUFFOON.

Do this planet a favor moron, do not breed.

Did you forget to take your meds today?

reply

That is not a comment, do you have something to offer ???? Can you defend your choice of cinematic viewing? Or do you simply hash out an idiotic comment?

reply

You know what robocat, why don't you just off yourself, who in the fuck are you ? Do you watch trash like this on a constant basis? Can you justify your existence in this universe? WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU HAVE TO OFFER IN THIS WORLD????????

reply

I don't need to defend anything. People have different tastes in movies and it's nothing to get upset over. Calling people names just because they like a movie you don't is very immature. Relax, enjoy the movies you like and I'll enjoy mine. Oh, and have a happy new year! 🎉

reply

Woah, slow down there Chiefy. Like you did with the movie, you’re seeing things in my post that don’t exist. Where in the post do I say I liked the movie? And please name the scene or scenes where the girl was tortured because I didn’t see those parts. Maybe your vast intellect picked up on something that I didn’t catch though.

To address another part of your angry rant, I’ve seen a number of Kubrick’s works. In fact, A Clockwork Orange is one of my favorite films of all time. 2001 was also pretty good, though I much preferred the book.

I feel bad for you, poor little guy. I’ve found that people who get so incensed and hostile towards others, like you, live miserable and sad lives. I won’t advise you not to breed, however, since it’s doubtful women show any interest in you, thus the lashing out at society. Happy New Year!

Looks like, it's just another male rape fantasy movie. I'll remember to stay clear of this movie

Yeah, slay the patriarchy sister!!! XD

OP is a shallow simpleton who cannot possibly comprehend art on any deeper level beyond simplistic "enjoyment" or "entertainment". Stick to your feel good marvel shit that tells you good guys always win and makes your fee fees tingle.

Also tbh I've never actually seen this movie because it looks like shit for entirely different reasons than the ones you give, I just accidentally stumbled upon this thread.

reply

DK637, how did you come to that conclusion, sheez, you haven't seen the film but you condemn my post? I am not a fan of Marvel or any superhero trash, I am a fan of Kubrick and Lumet. I despise infantile "movies" such as Lego vs Spiderman, pure garbage for the non-thinking masses.

And yes, this movie "Pet" sucked badly, hence my post asking exactly who might enjoy this trash.

Ok, here's my point: You're implying that a film can't can't have any sort of deeper merit to it if it shows brutality, gore, murder and violence. But what if that film is an exploration of such subjects? Let's say you have a film that deals with the subject of rape - Irreversible comes to mind despite that not being the central theme of the film. But you have a scene where a woman gets raped ok? And how does the director approach this scene? You can have a safe mainstream hollywood approach and cut off after 5 seconds of dry belly humping. But you can also make it realistic, you can show the viewer the harsh reality of life - "You see this? This is how rape looks like, it's fuc*ing horrible and lengthy and agonizing and disgusting and guess what fu**er!? It happens every day in real world, whether you're aware of it or not!"

I sure prefer the later approach because I despise dishonesty and sugar coating. If you think you'll get traumatised from watching it, then don't. Personally I feel much worse just thinking about the fact that even as I write this, some poor bastard is probably being dismembered by Colombian cartels or ISIS, some woman is getting raped, some child is being molested, a dog is being skinned alive and cooked alive... I could go on and on and on, but my point is that no simulated scene in any film gets close to horrors of just thinking about the reality. And I think escaping from reality by isolating ourselves in our ignorance is cowardice.

Certainly a depiction of violence has it's place in cinema. The continuous showing of malicious violence solely for the sake of showing violence in my opinion is worthless. Films like this one have zero plot and zero character development. One person wanders upon another person and is instantly subjected to extreme violence, then we have 15 minutes of screaming and torture for no apparent reason.

This is the subject of my original post.

reply

I think this flick has a lot of character development. The characters are for sure different people by the end of the movie.
