But why was he from Nigeria? I thought Nigeria is an Anglophone country, whereas Niger is a Francophone country.

But yes, it certainly was Nigeria. He even said "Remember Abuja" which is the capital of Nigeria.

perhaps he and his brother decided to learn another(other) languages and travel a little. A lot of people from a plethora of other countries know and learn multiple languages
