Kill Bill set?
The sword fight scene took place in a set that looked a lot like the set used in the the crazy-88's fight scene in Kill Bill vol I. Anybody know if it was the same set?

shareAlthough I haven't found the answer to this question, it was why I got on line right after watching the film, to find out for myself as well. I think it is, and will keep asking around until I know one way or the other for sure!
shareHey, what I did found out was that the set from Kill Bill was called "The House Of Blue Leaves" and was not a real location but a set in the Beijing Film Studio. Now, if we can only find out if the cast of "Chocolate" made their way to the Chinese Capitol, we'd be all set with an answer!
No. They weren't even similar.
shareWell I guess you told us! LOL It must have just been our imagination then......
shareHeh. Sorry. I may have been a bit abrupt.
If you watch the two scenes back-to-back, you'll see that the Kill Bill set was about three times bigger, had a mezzanine level, a dancefloor and a pool, two large staircases at either end, and the decor was completely different.
The scenes were kind of similar, but the sets really weren't.
The place in Chocolate was much smaller than the one in Kill Bill, but they looked very similar. 9/10
Look at the night sky, where does it end?

It's a traditional Japanese restaurant..they all look very similar..raised main floor, sunken seating area..lots of bamboo.
It would be like someone in Thailand watching, say..Pulp Fiction..the opening scene in the diner when HunnyBunny and Pumpkin hold it up and then seeing When Harry Met Sally and thinking the fake orgasm scene was filmed in the same diner...they all look very similar.
