Useless remake

After watching this movie, the only positive thing was to learn that it was a remake of a Fritz Lang movie with Joan Fontaine, which goes on my must see list right away.
Excluding Michael Douglas, the whole movie is quite a disaster. I appreaciated Jesse Metcalf in Desperate Housewives, and he should stay in those roles. His acting was dreadful, a one layer character until the last scene. Lame editing, sometimes jumping from one scene to another without much sense.
Still, the story remained interesting simply the whole thing felt like a missed opportunity. Tired of these useless remakes.
