It has the most infuriating plot and characters. It drags on for what feels like three hours. It's not funny at all. What a pointless exercise. Worst film I have seen in a long, long time. My friend and I were wondering who would possibly enjoy the film enough to bring it all the way to NZ and show it in a mainstream cinema? It should have stayed in france. on DVD only!
sharei enjoyed the remake. in fact, i watched clips of the original and thought the 1973 production was a total yawner. this one was fast, fun, and my only complaint was the end. i would have written the end where the photographer, holding the hitmans rifle, keeps him from completing his assignment. the police convoy pulls up to the courthouse. the gun discharges in the hotel room and everyone panics. a cop trips.. his gun goes off... and the witness dies... of a heart attack. the hitman has an out. the photographer gets some great snaps and wins fame and his wife back. the hitman retires.... not very funny but still, a nice end.
