Obvious question...(some spoilers)

...Was this movie made for cash-in with Ninja Assassin ? (like The Asylum studios does with their movies).

Some parts reminded me of Ninja Assassin: the attack at the police station, but in Ninja Assassin is far more spectacular and cooler.
